WHAT IS IT?

ArtBiz is a series of free classes for Newburgh youth focusing on providing exposure to career paths and career opportunities in arts and culture. Spanning a variety of artistic media, including visual art, performance, and hand-crafts, as well as other forms of cultural production such as writing, gardening, and culinary arts; Art-Biz will be taught by Newburgh artists, makers, and other creative professionals.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

The goal of Art-Biz is to engage youth in activities that can inspire the pursuit of viable creative career paths in the arts and to provide paid opportunities for our Newburgh artist community in line with our directive “to create expanded educational opportunities to all persons, and to young persons in particular…and to inspire youth to become aware of and involved with the arts and the role of art in their lives and in the life of the City of Newburgh.”
